2001 downstream oxygen sensor

2001 Maxima GLE non-california. Get code P0140. Chiltons book shows downstream sensor supposed to be on rear catalytic converter just before muffler. I don't have one there. Best I can figure it is on the front catalytic converter which is visible looking at the converter from under the front of the car. I want to double check this is the correct downstream oxygen sensor. Only other two I found are in the front and back exhaust manifolds. Plus would this fault give me hesitation and sputtering for the first mile after I start the car?

that would be B1 S2 , that would be the O2 sensor on the firewall side of the engine , the one after the Catt

First 'five miles' (=cold engine, =open loop) O2 sensors are NOT used. Sensors need heating period before they give accurate feedback 'readings' to ECU (closed loop). You may measure the up/down 1V signal output from sensor, compare each. The last sensor is used only for ECU/diag, it doesnt affect engine according the Nissan FSM...
