Also if it is coming out do you thing my 03 cavy would be able to handle that motor. (I.E. axels and all the nice little things

Your better off boosting the eco motor you already have. The solstice is running the 2.0 eco motor thanks due to the fact they pop those suckers out for the s/c ss cobalt already out the box with upgraded internals. 03+'s have the 2.2 which when done right can handle moderate ammounts of boost stock safely and put down some impressive numbers on the track and the dyno.

Yeah, I, being another Ecotec owner, would highly recomend just buying a turbo kit already made for our engine, such as the Hahn Stage 2 kit. Its supposed to put out 235whp on 7-9 lbs, which is about a 100whp jump from the stock Eco. And with a few interal upgrades, it would be very possible to reach 260 and probabley cheaper than the motor swap.

all the internals u would need would pretty much be a new valve train. pistons, rods, and lower end can handle a lot of power. valve train not so much. i second the buy a turbo kit for ur car. not worth the time/money for a motor swap. but just remember, if you have a manual, u will proly need a new clutch and some other goodies that dont come w/ turbo packages

The solstice GXp looks sick!

As far as hopping up a 2.2 ecotec...
The 2.2 can take a fair bit of power. But millrtime is right about the valves not taking that much, The VVT setup is great for an economy enigne, but it seems to be the weakest link when you up the power.
The other thing I wanted to mention is that if you are going all out to give an ecotec crazy power, you really should get the 2.0. have you guys ever read up on GM's 1000+ hp ecotecs? They got insane power in these engines, but the 2.2 couldn't handle as much as the 2.0. But unless you are going for crazy amounts of power, don't worry about it.
