My 97 GTP is pulling inner boots apart. I have gone through 3 in 4 months. They are from Napa, they are the correct shafts and not boxed wrong. The mounts are solid, the torque struts are tight and functioning. I either completely rip the boot between the bellows or pull the clamp and boot off the inner joint. There are no tears in the boot and it is secure and tight prior to installation. Generally I usually only see this when the wrong length shaft is used but everything measures out. Stumping me any help is appreciated. Thanks John

I would say broken mount. Something has to be traveling to far and pulling them apart. Or get a used OEM from Ed.

Is it the same side or both? A agree with Troy, it's a mount issue. How long have you owned the car and do you know if it's been in an accident? The sub-frame could be tweaked causing your issue, even though the mounts are good.

Same side always pass. side. All the mounts are new, within 4 months of age.
All of the body panels seem original but who knows. It has developed a pull to the right as well. I dunno if they are connected. Oh well thanks fot the ideas.

Is your GTP stock or modded?
Were all of these passenger side half shafts from NAPA? The problem is these aftermarkets do not meet GM OEM specs, regardless of the claims. The passenger half shaft receives the most torque and the reason why GM made it stronger. Most aftermarkets are remanfactured not new. You may have to consider canning the aftermarket and go to a Stage 1 axle shaft. Checkout the ones at ZZP. The only other aftermarket I might consider using are Moog which are typically remanufactured too.
