96' V6 trouble starting

I have a 96' V6 S-10 that has trouble starting. The battery is new so it has lots of power to turn over, but it takes a few turn overs and pumping gas to get it to start.
Once it starts it runs perfectly.
Can someone suggest items to check that could be causing this?
Thanks.

Do a search on this board for "Hard Starting". There have been several posts in the last week or so.

kinda sounds like a fuel pressure regulator not holding prime when shut off.

1.) Don't EVER pump the at any time. If it isn't starting, pumping does nothing but flood a fuel injection engine.
2.) Do a tuneup.
Fuel filter
Spark plugs AC Delco Platinum only
Cap & Rotor
Air Filter
PCV Valve

WQelcome to AF. In addition you may want to scan it and check for proper coolant temp sensor operation and check the fuel pressure during cranking.
