Ok. Here on the east coast of the US, I can't seem to find any cutting compounds at the local hobby shops.
Does anybody know of any other places to find some, or alternatives to compound. Thanks

Go to your nearest Harley Davidson or other Motorcycle Shop and ask for Simichrome polish it is great stuff and does not leave scratches.

Does your local Kmart/Walmart have any in the automotive paint section? How about Advance Auto or Pep Boys? If not, there is a product called "Nicsand" that comes with the Nicsand gel and a foam pad and costs about $12. I got it at Kmart but have seen it other places. It works, in my opinion anyway, better than any compound. The only drawback is that it`s messy and hard to use in tight spots since you have to use the pad they give you.
