Short Ram Intake & Header

One thing to keep in mind when installing a header w/ short ram intake set-up. The factory manifold has a heat shield which plays a big role. When removing the heatshield & manifold you install a header thinking your gonna get a few ponies instead you get nothin cause the air flow into the intake is extremely hot. Engine like cool air. One thing you could do to prevent extreme heat w/ a header is to install header wrap, yeah its not the prettiest looking thing. $300 is a lot of money for nothing. Honda OEM exhaust manifold actually flow pretty good for stock compared to other makes. Cold-air or Ram-air is best way to go but then you run the risk of sucking up some water & that usually is not a good thing.:bandit:

Good advise! I wrapped my header w/exhaust wrap and seems to get back some low end torque- highly recommended and looks racy too! Planning to wrap up my intake next.:D
