Strange Noises in 2006 VUE

My 2006 FWD 6-cyl VUE makes strange noises. To elaborate, when I turn it on, the engine just makes strange vibrating noises that scale up and down, like its getting more and more "out of control" and then it scales down. Its not like its gonna explode or anything, but I know its not supposed to sound like that, since the exact clone I park next to every day makes no such noises. The damn thing also nearly killed me today. As I was coming up the hill near my house the RPM needle flared and my engine wound up like I was in Neutral, but i was in drive the whole time. Then, it dropped back in (theory) and then I drove merrily home, cruising all the way. I'm going to the dealer Monday, and I'm wondering what I should say exactly and, if its a major problem, what's a good car ($ is no object) to say screw this and buy in lieu of the Saturn?

Thanks,

Clark

Welcome to the forums,

The best suggestion i can give, you is to be precise when explaining what's going on with your car when you get to the dealership. If you can pin point when it happens (such as when acceleration on a hill or something to that effect, this will help them diagonis the problem)From what you are describing it sounds along the lines of a vaccum line is loose, but have the dealer check it out anyways, Now since the car is this new, I would keep trying to get it fixed... and if not or if it is something serious, just go for the lemon law, why waste more money on a new or different car, when you could always get one for free! Good luck.

:eek:Sounds extremely similar to problems we had with our 2005 VUE AWD V6. After several visits to the dealer with NO solution... we are now past warranty, and the dealer has FINALLY pin pointed the problem to be torque converter AND... brake caliper. After a week of basically battling for our rights that a $26000 car should not call for over $2500 in repairs.. Saturn is paying for the torque converter repair. We are still out over $700 for TOWING the p.o.s. and brake work.
I have an 84 Acura commuter car that has given us less problems. At least we would expect this type of problems with a 23 year old car.. NOT our 2 year old car! We thought we were safe with the Honda engine.. but apparantly the plastic that holds the rest of the junk together is not worthy of the Honda name.

Not worthy of the Honda name?????????

I have an 2004 Vue Redline. What makes the car feel like crap in the rough idleing 3500 HONDA V-6. Further, this HONDA 5speed auto, is total junk. The thing shifts when it wants to, not when it is warranted based on load/demand. Have you ever heard and automatic grind the gears? Try the HONDA 5speed auto. How about the famous "double tap" engagement into drive. Once again try a HONDA 5speed auto to experience these and more quality traits. These cars would get alot better gas mileage if the transmissions were programmed properly. I can't wait until this thing is paid off so I can get something else. Neither the Saturn dealer of the Honda dealer can find anything wrong. Oh and let's not forget about the crunchy CV joints. They remind of a '84 Chevy Celebrity...
