Rear brakes on 89 sub

In prior posts it was discussed that the automatic adjustments on the rear brakes was not very good. Just had the shop adjust the rear brakes and it made a world of difference in handling and stopping. Would encourage all to check their rear brakes.

I recommend that the rear brakes are adjusted every time the tires are rotated.

Try using the park brake regularly. That seems to help keep the entire mechanism moving more freely, although I've never been able to ascertain why. It may be due to the sudden, rapid release of the brakes as opposed to the gradual movements allowed by the hydraulic system. With rear discs, using the park brake may be the only thing which adjusts the park brake shoes.
