high flow catalytic converter..?

I was looking to replace my catalytic converter (1995 Buick LeSabre 3.8L) and I was trying to find a high-flow one with a nice mirror finish, but I was having trouble finding one.

Any ideas? Magnaflow was my best bet I think.

Mirror finish? why? It is just going to scuffed up from the road anyway...

Anyway, I've got a Magnaflow Hi-flow cat converter off ebay for about $60. 2.5 diameter, I think the newer pipes (newer than 89) are still 2.5 diameter.

Well they say the ones with a mirror finish is better for heat or somethin.. I don't really know to tell you the truth I just thought it looked cool.

Also, is 2.5 diameter like.. the "set number" for 95 Lesabre's? Because I was looking around at cats and got kinda confused, some have a 2.5 diameter, some a 3, then some said like 2 out 1 in or something like that. I assume the larger the diameter the better the air flow, am I restricted to a cat with a 2.5 diameter?

The diameter is the inlet and outlet pipe size. Unless you want to change the whole exhaust size, you are stuck with the stock size (2.5 is what my LeSabre is, I assume yours is the same but you ought to find out for sure).

If you can find a polished cat converter, then OK but I don't really know if any extra heat given off would be significant. Plus, whos going to be looking under the car other than you or a mechanic?

Does it really need replaced?
You will be better of just replacing with stock OEM type.
If you want chrome hang some big pipes out the real or put it on the engine.

All of Random Tech cats are “high flow” and made from stainless steel, which is bright and shiny. These are far superior to OEM cats in every way, including price. Ah.. thanks! I was going to go for the first one on the list, it says it's a

"Universal Random Technology Universal 9000 Series Hi-Flow Catalytic Converter #Universal 9000"

After I clicked it I was brought to a diameter selection page, the first selection says 2-1/2 and I think that's my car going off of earlier posts - so I'll grab that one. It has a selection for a kit.. is this required? I'll get the first one on that list, it should be the correct one I need going off of it's item coding.

I can't wait til I get this thing, my CIA is already on the way too! YES!
