thump in stering wheel when turning

hi all i've been noticeing lately that when i turn left or right you cand feel a thumping on the steering wheel and on the pedals . its only wen turning and on the gas or turning when breaking i've checked every thing ball joints tirods struts bushings not sure to look next its a 2003 monty 3.4 ls 44,000 miles on it any suggestions would be greatly appreceated thanks:banghead:

Only thing you didn't mention checking is the sway links?

It could also be bad hub bearings, bad/out of balance tire, bent rim, bad control arm bushings or a broken sway bar.

i checked the sway bar and end links tires are new rims are ok .bushings and everything els look good .i lifted the car up and thare is nothing loose i double checked ball joints bearings tie rods :banghead: there no viible signs of any thing broke ,rubbing,or hitting anything

With the car on the ground, open the hood, have some one else turn the wheels left and right while you feel for a bearing clunk on each side at the top in the centre of the strut mounting. That's what it was on my '02 and only with the weight on the front end.

The bulk of components being checked here require the suspension to be loaded (wieght transferering through it) to be checked for wear properly.

ok tryed it with it sitting on the ground re checked everything including the struts... nothing every thing loooks ok no noises or anything moveing abnormaly or loosly. im going to inspect the steering column it is the only thing i really havent taken a real god look at

thanks for all yor help i beleave i may have found the problem beleave it could be the steering shaft slip joint needs grease
