New 6-disc question

This question has been recirculated so i'm going to pose a new version to get the answers. It has been stated the 6-disc changer being put in in place of the single disk causes speaker problems, so what if the speakers were removed out of a newer Xterra, would the speakers newer speakers work on the other speakers wiring, or am i fooling myself thinking it would be that easy. Also, while we're at it, say I want the steering wheel controls form a 02-04, could i swap my steering wheel (2000 SE) with the one from a 03-04, or could i just take the controls. I know this sounds crazy, but I have a quality junkyard nearby, and the parts are there for the taking, i'm just looking to hear responses before i make crazy mistakes. And finally for reference, if i'm taking the speakers, is there anything stopping me from taking the subwoofer in the back of the 02-04 and putting it with the 6 disc and 02-04 speakers in my 2000. All responses are appreciated

Yes, the 02+ stereo made for 2-ohm loads will not drive the earlier 4-ohm speakers more than moderately.
Yes, swapping in the 02+ speakers as well would be the fix. However, I had a set of 02 speakers (because they were nicer polypropylene vs. paper) and they do not simply drop in. They use a different shape of connector, and physically mount differently. It would take a little work to swap them. I didn't bother and sold the 02 speakers off again.
Steering wheel controls can't be swapped, the necessary wiring isn't present in the steering column (spiral cable) or dash.
The sub-equipped models have an external amplifier. You would need it, and run the necessary wiring, to use the sub.
