i have a 2000 monte carlo LS i want to switch out the 3.4 to the 3.8 is that possible

It is possible, but the work is very hard to do.. you'd have to change out many things and in the end, probably like most people you'll give up.
My advice would be to trade in your Monte Carlo and buy one with the 3.8.. you'll more than likely waste less money and save yourself more time.

You are talking about swaping motors of 2 completely different orientations.
with the age of he car not being that much, you'd be better off trading it in and paying the difference. :2cents:
