I swear I'm having deja vu because I really thought I just read this a half hour ago. Anyway.
Let's start at the beginning. You say you got new plugs and wires...did this start happening right after you put them in? What kinda plugs are they and what are they gapped to?
Also are you getting a check engine light? And have you done/touched anything recently? How many miles on your car and have you done the most recent 60k tuneup?

no this just staretd recently. ok this is what happened. my friend was driving it. and he wasnt even pushing it hard, but he shifted late when normal driving, like at 4. well one time, before he shifted, it kinda sounded like it backfired, then the check engine ligt came on. i was like WTF. but he didnt do anythging out of th oridinary. so i stopped, go out, popped the hood and checked everything out, while the engine was on. and every looked fine to me. so i turned off the car, and when i turned it back on like 5 min later, the check engine light didnt come on, and i drove the cara nd it felt fine. i even floored it a bit.
anyways. that was like a week ago. and ive noticed that my cars been acting a lil fiunny after that now. but right after that, that day, it was acting fine.
miles......alot 170000, WHOA. lol yea but its in real good cond. we timed it, and the pluggs and wires r good, not sure what wires, but i got bosch platinum pluggs

2 things.
a) go to stealth316 find the link for pulling diagnostic codes from the ECU and do it. Whenever a check engine light comes on, it's for a reason. Even if the light went out, the code is stored. So pull it, it will tell us where to start.
b) Bosch plugs SUCK! I really truely mean it. Especially if htey are those 4 prong or whatever plugs. Garbage. I can't count the number of misfires and other problems that have been solved simply by taking bosch plugs out and putting NGK plugs in. I'd start there.

i agree. get some NGK platinums. they're not cheap (~10 a plug), but that's what Mitsu calls for (oem, stock), very good quality, and will last for 60k+ miles. cheapest you'll find them is Rockville Mitsubishi. look em up online. tell em your part of a 3000GT/Stealth club and you'll get a huge discount.
