1987 Scotsdale fuel problem

it has 2 fuel tanks on it, and it came from the factory like that - when u switch to the 2nd tank, the engine cuts off - can some1 tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? - Thanks

a buddy of mine has a truck with the 2 tank option and one time he switched from one to the other and the motor died on him on the street. apparently it was a problem with the switch in the dash that you toggle, so he just uses the one tank now instead of both. might not be the same problem as you have though

That can bi a number of things. My dad has one just like yours in an 80 model. havent had feul problems that way but it could be maybe a fuel filter, could be tank switch, could be a pinched line, but it sounds like switch is not working.
