Water sloshing around

I have a 2001 Bravada and I am hearing water sloshing around from the roof area towards the back of the vehicle. I can't figure out where the water is. I have raised the rear hatch, have looked around to see if there is any water buildup or to see if there are any drainage passages that were plugged, I can't find anything. It does have a sunroof so I assume that there must be drainage passages somewhere.

Someone please help, it can't be good for that water to be sitting and sloshing around wherever it is.

First question is, are you sure its overhead?

There are drain tubes that come off the rear corners of the sunroof frame. This is how they fixed the "all sunroofs leak" problem of the 80's.

It is possible that one of the drain tubes has become clogged. Typically it drains back to the B-pillars not to the rear of the vehicle.

The drains has little nipples made of rubber on them that stick down about about 1/2 in if it is like my Blazer. they will be close to the side and under the pillar like JoulesWinfield said. Pull these out to see if they are clogged but watch out because if they are you will get wet when you pull out.

The water sloshing sound is definately coming from the rear of the vehicle, sounds to be coming from the top area but I can't be 100% sure. I'll get a friend to ride in the cargo area tonight to see if he can pinpoint where it's coming from.

I located the drain tubes for the sunroof, they are in the front and don't appear to be clogged and this is not the area where the sound is coming from.

Where else could water be collecting in the rear of the vehicle? I've noticed the sound for about the last 7-10 days and just cant figure out where or what it can be. It really sounds to be coming from as far back as the rear hatch around the roof area. I can see no blocked passages anywhere.

Check where your jack is stored or you may have to take the panel off the other side to check that quarter fender or look under for the plugs I told you about.

I checked where the jack is when I first heard the noise, didn't see anything but I will check again and will check the otherside as well.

As far as the plugs you mentioned, I found the ones in the front, you can see them if you have the front doors open. As far as any plugs in the back, I don't see any plugs/nipples in the rear of the vehicle, am I blind?

They are hard to see like on the side your jack is on it is way up beside the fender toward the rear if you reach up in there and feel right at the back conner you can feel it same on the other side.

where is the best place to get a view of these plugs, from the rear wheel well or from under the rear bumper? Still haven't had any luck locating them. :banghead:

Found those plugs and man were they plugged, and yes, I got wet, but a lot of water came out, so that must have been the problem. Thanks for all the help!

Sorry I have not got back to you in a while been busy. I am glad you found your prob all that water in there is not good you can leave the plug out or look and see if the end was stuck together so no water could run out. Sometimes they dry out a little and will not open up to let the water out.
