To extend or not to extend ?

Hi !

I just changed my 00 max GLE for a car I just keep loving day after day, a 2004 Max 3.5SE with one more pedal than in my old max ! I've been waiting a long time to find a 6 speed max but this one was for me.

It has about 70000 kilometers on it (44000 miles) so the original bumper2bumper warranty has expired. However, I still have the drivetrain warranty up until 100000 km (60 000 miles). I was wondering if it would be a good move to buy an extended warranty from Nissan. I'm looking for the 7-years, 160000km (100000 miles) warranty which covers many parts of the vehicle, not just the drivetrain.

However, it costs a potload of money : 2800 canadian $ taxes included... or about 2400USD.

I find it's too expensive. I don't care to put money on the car once in a while and I think the car is generally trouble-free... am-i wrong ?

I wanted to know from people who have a 6th gen if they would go for it or retain the money for future troubles that could happen with the car.

Thanks a lot for your inputs !

Vincent.

How much more of a warranty will they give you. Having the extra warranty is a nice cushion . You will feel safer knowing that if the previous owner did something, that the extended will cover it cause you brought a certified used car from a dealer. Witch they are responsible for that car being safe. For long term, I would get the warranty if it was me. Cause parts for that car and repairs in the long term , just may be more than the warrenty...GL
