I was thinking about doing Air Cylinders on my CRX after getting my B16A. The problem is, i know nothing about these. Wat i want to know is where i can i find complete kits that'll come with everything? how hard is it to install? wat's a good company to get them from? Any information u have will be helpful, because i really just need to get an idea on how much this'll cost me.

At work, my friend drives a 2001 Galant. Its looks pretty decent, its all black with black interior. stock alloys. I did his stereo in it. TVs, dvd, 2 amps, etc, etc.

He has airbags on it. It has been a long bumpy ride for him (pun intended) He has had several things break, it takes forever to fill up the tank. You can only raise and lower the front end of the car like 3 times before you have to wait another 10 min for the tank to fill etc. I would suggest you not do this to your car. I know he spent around 1900 bucks for this "top of the line " system that is on his car. His handling isnt all the great. If youre going to have a B16a , you are going to want your Rex to handle.

Sounds like your friend didn't match his components to his needs. If he wanted to raise and lower it all the time, he should have opted for a larger tank with a more powerful compressor.

There's a guy on this forum with an air ride suspension on his civic, and as I recall he's pretty happy with it. Just do a search for air ride suspensions, and you'll find a couple threads on 'em.

well i have them on my 91 hatch.. the ride isnt great but i have rode in worse..as for the air tank problem, you get the 3/4 horse compressor that is 100 cycle duty which makes continuous air or run 2 20 cycle compressors.. as for the air.. get a bigger tank. my kit came with a 3 gallon but i upgraded to a 7 gallon which made a world of difference.. mine was 996 shipped from chasis tech and i have no problems what so ever with n e thing breaking and i slam mine hard all the time.. my handling is insane still.. all i have are the cylinders and front and rear strut tower bars and it handles excellent..

hope that helped a bit

My friends crx had them and the one thing i didn't like about them was that the car didn't lay. You would have to cut and weld shit to lay on the ground. The only hard part on the install was the wiring. It wasn't that tough though, just a pain in the ass.

Nope. He has a 7 gallon tank, 2 compressors and fast valves or whatever that shit is. Its like I said the best of everything pretty much and it still doesnt work too well. Im sure a Honda would be a little better considering the weight difference between the two cars. I believe his car weighs almost 3200 lbs.

Thanks for all the info. I just have 2 last questions.

1) How much are Air Cylinders gonna weigh me down?

2) Any idea wat i would run in the 1/4 mile with B16a E/CAI/H and air cylinders (would it still be close to 14's)?

Thanx so much for all ur help, and any more info/opinions are appreciated.

..air cylinders are gonna be significantly lighter than a typical strut/spring combo...there's really nothing to em..

you could set your car up to be a decent drag car with cylinders...air down in the front and up in the back....it'll keep it from squatting...just gotta be careful b/c cylinders have a tendency to bend if there all the way extended....
