I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix. I never noticed the light on before. I recently had my windshield replaced, and it has been leaking on the passenger side. I know the "Brain" of the airbag system is under the passenger seat, and unfortunately the water has been going from the front to the back. The Place that changed my windshield has been out to fix it once before and i'm waiting for them to come again.
Would that cause my unit to mess up? And make the light come on?

It would be helpful to post year and model Grand Prix.
The "Brain" is called a Service & Diagnostics Module (SDM). Although the water intrusion may have gotten to the wiring and connector, it could be another problem. I would definitely get that leaking windshield seal fixed. Also, try to visually inspect the SDM area under the seat. Be sure to remove the airbag fuse when working around SRS components.
Was the airbag light on at anytime before the windshield was replaced?
Another possibility is the SDM module detected a frontal crash as a result of the windshield replacement and triggered the airbag light. Removal of the windshield may have overcome the threshold of the sensor. The primary sensor is located in the SDM module and there may be a secondary sensor located at the front end of the car depending on what year model.
The GM dealer has the capability to perform diagnostics on the SDM and airbag circuits to include resetting the airbag light.

Must be scanned with a SIRS function scanner for codes.
