Torque converter bolts

I had to make total overhaul to my Blazer's engine. Now I'm putting the engine back to the car. How do you supposed to bolt converter bolts when there's no hole or hatch (aluminium oil sump)??? Usually I have done this (with other cars) so that I put engine in the car first and then bolt converter bolts through the hole covered by a hatch.
Do anyone have any idea?

Did you take the engine out?
If so just reverse the engine out procedure.
Did you bolt up the splash cover before you bolted up the converter?:grinyes:
If so remove splash cover and you will be looking at converter bolts.
Just make sure your converter has some slack/ movement back and toward engine.
If not you are in a world of hurt.

Blazer is -98 and tranny is TH700. Oil sump and engine covers converter totally; there is no splash cover. Oil sump is aluminium and boltet directly to tranny. When I took engine out, I had to move engine forward littlebit to make a cap. Through that cap I could remove converter bolts with a open end wrench. I guess when putting engine back it would be a good idea use a torque wrench, but there is no room to do that...???

I am not sure what engine or what you got.
But everyone I have had you remove the transmission converter splash pan or aluminum converter 6 bolt cover and get right to converter bolts.
Good Luck MT

I got to mine where the starter bolts to the engine. If the starter is out, you can turn the engine a little at a time and line up the bolts. The hole should be on the other side of the engine (according to your picture) Hope this helps

BTW, replace those oil cooler lines with the news ones they have from the dealer.

The stock ones leak.

My dealer didn't know about any other brand. Do you know who makes those..

I never said anything about another brand.

Get AC Delco or I think Doorman makes them as well.
