HB and 4dr Taillights

I know the taillights from a 2dr wont fit a 4dr but will someone tell me why not....everybody just keeps telling me no and not saying why??

Because the hatchback is just that, a hatch..its entire rear end is flat. The 4dr has a trunk, the body lines are completely different.

yea ok i get that but are the taillights to wide or to long or something like that.....

does it really matter? they don't fit. end of story.

They have a different SHAPE!

yup yup...4dr, crx, and hb all look the same but there are numerous parts that don't fit...even from the 88-89 and 90-91 cars are in different ways

not to jack the post but would 90-91 hb lights fit my crx? i want to get rid of my halo projectors

headlights? yes I believe they would, its the corners that are different, smack me if im wrong.

dude theres only 2 kinda tailights that look sharp on a crx..90-91 si tails or SiR tails..anything else would be uncivilized:icon16:

the sides of the HB tails won't fit into the "buckets" on a 4dr.. they're about a 1/2 inch too short.. I believe you'd have to redrill the body for the mounts too... a lil bondo will fix the issue with depth tho.. it's been done.. not that it matters.. they're about the same tail.. Idunno, noone used to make aftermarket tails for the 4dr.. so my friend got HB tails and used those..

The center section, however, bolts right up, if you want a black one... since I believe almost all the 4g hatches had black ones.. dunno about the rex one tho.. I know it's an integral part of the tails on a rex.. backup lights are in it.. you could wire them in tho, only thing is you'd have a "hand" area where on the rex you reach under the liftgate to pick it up.

The rex are red just like the tails, it just doesnt light up.

the 88 rex is red, and has "CRX" in the middle, and reverse lights on the sides of the center panel.. I just painted the inside of mine black :P

I think only the base model hatch backs came with a black center piece. I know mine was red before I painted over it because I didn't like it...and I still think it looks better that way.

Agreed. I swapped my 88's for 90-91 versions. Sharp. Clean. Crisp.

i just went out and bought the whole 1990 crx. lol
