50 trim setup!!!

ok, so i almost have everything i need to run my 50 trim setup, and 400 WHP. all i have left is a headgasket (looking at a few) DSMlink (already have eprom socketed) 950cc fuel injectors, and turbo (looking at the FP green) but my question is this, hooking up a oil line to the oil filter housing on a 7-bolt is the same as on a 6-bolt right? so this line (link) will work for my green turbo right?

http://linux.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=FPMLSS1G

if not, where can i find a feed line that will work and is SS like that? because i really like the way it looks, and performs.

also, the water lines will hook up directly to the turbo i assume? :screwy: if i'm wrong, where can i pick up water lines that will work?

thats all i got left!:smokin: thanks!

You don't need to run water lines... IIRC the green is an oil cooled turbo only. It is also the king of street turbos. With the supporting mods I've seen people run very low 11's with them.

GREAT! so how would i go about blocking the factory water lines that feed the factory turbo?

any info on the oil feed/drain lines?

Weld them shut and you know water will never leak from them.

As for the feed/return lines... We always feed off the side of the head on our 6 bolts. I'm not so sure if you can do that also on a 7 bolt or not. If you can, I believe that would be the easiest route to go. If not, then you will just need to tap into the oil filter housing somewhere... Ummm... I'm trying to remember where my t25 tapped in at... Oh the return lines are easy if you just do a 10AN braided line for it.

2g's have 3/8in oil feed fittings from the housing. Turbo's use the Banjo bolts to connect the oil feed lines to the turbo (see the open end of the feed line). If your fiddy trim is an oil cooled only turbo then you have 2 choices.

1, cut off the water feed from the front water pipe and patch the hole..
2. Buy a $12 1g n/a turbo front watter pipe that doesn't have the feed line from the pipe..

Ps.. Buy a 28in feed line.. 24in has been a pain in my ass..

Did you put an inline filter in yours?

I could have sworn the green still had water lines

You only need when you use the oil feed location from the head. I don't find it extreamly nessissary to have a filter right after the oil filter..

Ah ok, I was just curious... I am gonna be running mine off the head with an inline filter. I would think you would want something with a higher micron filter before your turbo still just to filter out the fine stuff the normal filter misses... :2cents:

I think the inline filters are only beneficial when you are getting the oil off the head. I wouldnt think they would really catch all that much stuff and I would think they would just drop the oil pressure into the turbo. However, when you are breaking in an engine I would use one whether the oil is coming from the filter housing or the head.

Yeah, I've heard a few horror stories about ceased up turbos due to oil contamination from new engines.

No, it is not water cooled. My friend had it on his old setup and it is an oil cooled turbo only.

Yeah, not many turbos are water cooled.
