Fuel Pump reset button

Is there a fuel pump reset button for the 2001 Chevy Malibu? Just wondering i cannot get the vehicle cranked and was thinking that was the problem. It got flooded yesterday due to high water up to the floor board.

That only comes on Fords. :grinyes: :grinno: :lol:
Did the engine and air cleaner get wet?
Does it crank over?
Got spark or fuel?

The engine may have got wet not sure though. I had to move it because the water started to get inside so i moved it into the garage. Yes it does turn over just fine but just wont crank. It has fuel i just filled it up this morning.

Raise hood and see how wet it is and leave hood open for a while to help dry it off.
Check for spark to plugs.
On got fuel I was refering to fuel pressure.
Got fuel pressure?

firstly
how would the air cleaner get wet if the water was only up to the floorboards...it can't
secondly
water at that level should not affect the fuel pump in any way nor any major engine components
you need to check for fuel pressure
i've had fuel pressure problems before...turned out to be the check valve in the fuel pump (i knew from the lack of pressure from the fuel rail...my car was half full or even mostly full of gas)
would drive fine and then say 30 mins later would not start since the pump was getting weaker
it is easily checked for...turn on your ignition and let the fuel pump stop running..(note the sound of the pump also...if it sounds like a constant low humming noise it's prob bad but if the sound changes whilst running it's probably sending fuel to the engine)..turn off ignition and check for pressure.
this is done at the little black dustcap on the end of the fuelrail (passenger side of rail) remove and lightly press the little valve quickly(engine off) if fuel spurts out and does not dribble then this is not a fuel issue bud

Well if the water was high enought to get in the floor board and the car was down hill or drove around in the water it could have sucked water in to the air filter. :grinyes: :grinno: :lol2:
Low air filter intakes and high water spells water in the air filter to me.
I have saw many engine hydrolocked in a foot or less of water.
Beside he did not say how deep the water was in the floorboards.
