looking for the perfect f150

Im looking to find a black 1997-2003 flareside 5.4L 4x4 shortbed f150. Im looking for something in my price range of sub $10,000, so it will probibly need to have upwards of 120,000 miles. Does anyone have one or know of one for sale within 200 miles of kentucky. And is this a resonable price for such truck or am I dreaming.

i found that bunch on AutoTrader, but in that group the only flareside one is a SuperCab. you didn't say whether you wanted it to be a 2-door or not. (these results are all within 200 miles of your zip code)

i think the problem you'll find is that people buying a 4x4 are using the truck for more "serious" work, and need a bigger bed so they go with the styleside insetad of the flareside bed.

Yeah that second truck is almost exactly what I'm looking for outside of it being an auto. But I see what your saying about the 4x4 being for work and the smaller bed not. I think the 4x4 would be nice but not completly neccisary for what i will be using the truck for.

Yeah I basiclly want to build up a lightning but without the supercharger. I would Just get a Lightning except I dont have all the money at once so I want to put money in a lttle at a time. Im willing to sacrifices the extended cab option because I think that is my biggest problem in my search.

Question, do they even make the 5.4L in a 5speed. Cause I dont know if I've seen one yet, and it often isn't an option in search's. I want to shift gears, it makes it seem like your going faster. I have a 1993 TT toyota supra, so im more of a car guy, but i need a truck that can haul loads on a trailer. I want something that can also haul on the strip. But like I said I cant afford a lightning.
