Speaker Wires

1998 Concorder LXi with Infinity Sound System. I would like to know how to tell which of the two wires going to the front door speakers is positive and which is negative. One wire has a red stripe and the other a black stripe. I could assume the red stripe is positive, but I want to be sure.:wink:

Almost all black striped wires will be negative in a two wire situation but with a multimeter you can check the continuity with the black striped wire and the body.

To confirm that the multimeter will zero out when you touch the two leads together and the same thing will happen if the black stripe is negative, connected to a test lead, and you touch the other probe to the grounded body.
