99 Astro AWD Fuel pump replacement?? HELP

I know I need a fuel pump replaced - Just wondering if anyone has ever cut through the floor to gain access to replace it?? I have done this with a lot less hassle with a 97 Chevy Venture van. Any info. would be appreciated...

I would avoid cutting the floor on an Astro. Most of the rigidity of the floor will be compromised. Besides, it's not that tough to drop the tank - Even the large one:

Then pull the top unit:
