Well I just installed a dc sports 4-2-1 header on my 92 civic, and after I drive for awhile the check engine light comes on. Everything was fine before I put the header on. I noticed that dc relocates the o2 sensor down by the collector, and have seen other posts about the extension cable causing too much resistance? anyway I reset the ecu by disconnecting the neg batt. cable, but light still comes on. Any ideas ..

HEY, I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. HAD A 92 CIVIC EX AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I INSTALLED THE DC 4-2-1 ONE PIECE HEADER AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. CHECK THE ECU CODE AND IT GAVE ME A CODE 43. I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE FUEL SUPPLY CIRCUIT BUT NOTHING. THE PROBLEM WAS THE OXYGEN SENSOR. CHANGED THAT AND RESET THE ECU, NOW EVERYTHING IS FINE.

You know an easy way to check the ecu code, without taking it to a shop. The 92's dont have the led like on the older 4th gen civ's.

trip the wire that is down by the floormat on the passenger side. that is done by shorting it out with a paperclip or screwdriver. the check engine light will flash telling you the code. get a book that tells you what the codes mean and how to solve the problem.
