any ideas on this new exaust, distubtor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil. plugs are gaped to 0.060in i think thatz the spec the hainse manule saysif its not it it dont the the specs in the book.

some one has asked me about a after market cam in the create motor it is the stock cam as i got the replacement one from gm for the truckas for the old one i dont know but if they is a way to check wioth out ripping the motor apart please let me know.

dose my comp need to be reprogramed? could it be the thing beside the coil on the bracket i cant rember the name of it? or any one with a scantool that could help me out i am in calgary?

Reprogramming could be needed depending on the cam and headwork but they should have told you that when you bought the engine.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Low pressure can make you run lean.

Remember that a miss can be a fuel injector not firing OR the spark not firing. Double check all of the fuel injector connectors. It is easy to cross one up.

There is no way to set the timing on the Vortec. You need to set the cam retard and that can only be done with a scanner.

is there a way to tell where the injoctors go and the order? if they were messed up shouldint it still be giveing me a p0300 code and not just a p0307?

if u take care of the timing issue and still have a mis, run a bottle of seafoam through ur system and it should clear it all up. i had a similar problem n replaced damn near everything and still had a mis n that cleared it right up. u could also have a mis if ur cam position sensor is goin out.

Why replace a sensor when you are getting a misfire on 7?

Were you able to get the cam retard set with a scan tool?

If it is easy to get at the injectors, you could swap 7 and 5 to see if the problem follows the injector. If the problem stays with 7, then you should verify the injector is firing with a injector test light.

You should also check to be sure the plug wire for 7 is in good shape. Try routing 7 so that it is not parallel to 5.

YES!! you still need a scan tool (for the 3rd or 4th time) & NO!! you can't time it without it. The CMP (cam postion sensor) is in the dist which runs off the cam. P1345 is most likley caused by the dist being 1 or 2 teeth off in either direction of were it should be. Once it's in the right position you WILL need a scan tool that you can put in the "cam retard" or "cam offset" mode to set the timing at 0 +/- 1 or 2 degs.

update

had some one with a scan tool come over and found mutply missfires did a ompression test and found it to be low adjusted the valves and didnt set the cam retared cuz of a leaking dis gasket so i put a new one in and droped the dis back in where it was in the exact same spotand now the p1345 is gone and p0300 is back he is comeing back to set the cmp for me would this fix the p0300 code as it is not a p1345 anymore?
