New problem after the 7mgte swap...

Well as ya'll know, my friend and I swapped out his 7m from his '90 Supra, and replaced it with an '88 7mgte. After some custom wiring, and makeshift part...making...we were able to start the car. But here's the new,bad part...it's dumping a god aweful amount of fuel. So much it starts to drip out of the exhaust, and the car runs like junk. I was thinking multiple injectors might be stuck, but he says he read in his hayne(spelling) manual that it says if you can hear them pulsing then they are not junk. Well, that seemed a little bogus to me...What do you think?
P.S. How can we find out, for real, if the(if any) injectors are stuck?

Is everything completely stock? Could be the injectors but dont u have the ones from the 90?

Everything on the motor is completely stock, down to the airfilter...The 88 motor has the 88 injectors; the ones that came with the motor...We still have the old injectors from the '90 motor we pulled. Are they interchangeable(ie same size)?

As long as they r turbo injectors, they are interchangeable.

They aren't the turbo injectors, we pulled them out of the n/a earlier and tried to mate them to the turbo clips but to no avail. Not sure where to proceed from now...

The turbo and non-turbo injectors are not swapable. First off they have a different flow rate, and secondly they are different impedance. If you have non-turbo injectors on a turbo motor you are certianly going to have problems. Wow, no wonder you are having problems. You are not only swapping between model years, but you are also trying to run a turbo motor with NA parts. They are not interchangable. This is why a clip makes things easier.

Here is a link to test the turbo injectors with a multimeter:

Also, pull the codes from the car. Tell us what you find.

We weren't sure, you can't exactly blame all the problems we have had on trying to take injectors from the old motor and use them on the new. I think we figured it out once the clips didn't match. He has a slight knowledge of his Supras(size injectors, etc.) and I have no knowledge of supras, but we both have mechanical experience...so while working on stuff we don't always know if it's the right choice, you live you learn...

Update:
The whole fuel system has been replaced...Everything has correct voltage and everything has been to the machine shop and cleaned out and etc...So, the whole fuel system is in pristine condition. But still the problem of the dumping fuel; we are almost wondering if it's the ecu; is it even a possibility to be the ecu? Because honestly, everything other aspect has been checked and/or replaced but still this problem persists so it must be something electrical...Any opinions on this...?

So, you are running an 88 ECU? Are all the parts 88, or 89+? 89 was a change up year for the motor, so all the parts need to be from an older turbo motor. The older ECU won't be able to run a newer motor. You are probably going to have to go over every bit of electrical with a multimeter and chase the problem out. At least you didn't do like me and take on the headache of swapping a 1JZ from a 93 Soarer into an 88 NA with wiring diagrams written in Japanese.

Every part is from an 88, well I'm pretty sure...Would things like the igniter or injector resistors matter inbetween years?

I am completing a similar swap myself. The injector and ignitor should be fine, I believe. The rule is that you need a harness and ecu of the similar year of the body you are using. You can tell by the color of the ecu. Yellow earlier years and gray later years. You will need that gray ecu from 89+. I will be using the older 7mgte from earlier years but matching it with a later year electronics. I am not sure if that is causing your problem though. Pull the codes maybe the car is telling exactly what your problem is. Other ideas could be a non working fuel pressure regulator, faulty afm, fauly O2 sensor, faulty ecu. Codes are your friend.
