posi???

what do you guys think would be a fair price to install posi and a new ring and pinion just for the labor cause i was told about 500 and i dont know if i'm getting screwed thanks guys

So the $500 is labor only? Is this from a general shop, rear end specialist or speed shop? It might be worth getting a couple of more quotes or finding a whole rear already set up.

Seems fairly pricey consider Posi units don't cost that much. How bought you get a couple 30 packs and a few friends to watch for safety and maybe an old mechanic. Its not too hard to mess aorund in the rearend, but that price seems a bit steep in my opinion. Try and find a friendlier garage.

Unless they run into problems about 5.5-6.5 hours should do it, plus incidental shims, fluid, gaskets and such. This time is for people who are experienced with this procedure and have the right tools.

ya its just a general shop i'll check into a rearend speciallty shop and see what they quote me at thanks i'll let you know how it goes
