I have a 90 si hatchback. Alright, heres the scoop. I bought the car as a fixim up, love at first sight thing, didnt care that it didnt run. When i turn the ignition on the main relay was constantly clicking so i replaced that, no help, still clicking. Could here the fuel pump clicking as well, ask some people, all say fuel pump bad, Wrong again. Fuel is pumping, no spark at the plugs. Clicking has pretty much stopped but still does occasionally. ECU gives no trouble code but i did notice light seems to flash with clicking. Please help, im lost. Not sure what to try next. Thank You.

I know it is pretty basic but Hayes has some suggestions.

Yeah, Ive looked through those and tried almost all. I am going to test the ignition system today and hopefully find the problem.

this may sound kind of stupid but check if your battery is dead that is what it sounds like to me

The fuel pump won't click if the battery is dead will it?

if the battery is not all the way dead it will click but he said the clicking went away which means he drained the battery all the way

I had to put a brand new battery in it so thats definetly not it. I tested the ignition system today and could find no probs. The main relay still clicks sometimes but not constant. Im still geting no spark from the plugs.

Anybody think it could be the ECU?

you said there was no spark going to the plugs right, so check the wires, dizzy, and the elctrical going to the starter.

Wires are good, distributer is good, coil is good, starter works fine. It cranks all day just no fire. I know, its sounds like something real simple is wrong but ive been chasing this for going on two weeks now.

Civics are famous for burning up ignitors inside the distrubtor. I'd try to find another one outta a junkyard car and try that in there (the dealer wants 90 bucks for a new one, expensive but worth it). I'd take the distubtor cap off at least and have a look inside there. The ignitor is the really small square brown thing, bout the size of a playstation memory card, it has 4 wires connected onto it. (NOTE: if the ignitor is black not brown...its orginal and there is a GOOD chance it might need replaced).

I don't know if this happens in or 4th gens, but on my Jeep Cherokee, I had a similar problem, no spark anywhere... Anyways, it turned out to be the Top Dead Center Sensor connector was loose... All I had to do was wiggle the connector, and bang, it started back up. Food for thought?

Hey i see that ur having problems with starting ur car and the main relay clicks tats a good sign because ur relay is workin also what is causing that is a main ground that is right where ur thermostat is there should b a wired grounded right there by the hose if its not there , then there is your problem I had the same problem with mine took me 2 months to figure out. Finally got it running I got a 91 hatch with Integra LS motor. Well hope this info helps.
