I got a 2nd gen talon and i got to sit in some evo 8 seats about a week ago and there were so nice. I was wondering will evo 8 seats fit in my talon?

Anything will fit. Its a matter of having the tools and engineering skills to make it fit right...

Ah yes the infamous hammer mod. I was just thinking of taking 4 pieces of steel and drilling the holes were the seat would bolt to the orginal sliders and then drill more holes to bolt it to the car

Completely lost me...

All I got was lots of holes and steel. lol

Alright i will make it simple.

Take 2 or 4 pieces of steel bar depending how strong you want it 2 will work
Take and drill the holes in the bar were the old slider bolts were. Put the old exsisting bolts in and bolt the bars to the floor.
Take and set the seat were you find it the most comfortable and make marks on the bars. Drill the holes then bolt the seat to the bars. TADA same thing hobby stock drivers do. Only down side is you cant slide the seat.

Oh ok, but why wouldn't you just use aftermarket sliders instead of steel bars? Then it could slide wherever you wanted it. :2cents:

Well you could go that route the reason i wouldnt because my mom prefers my 3k car vs here 11k car so if she cant reach the pedals the better. If also wanted to go the cheaper route you can use my way. With the cost of metal i could get it for a max of 35$.

For 50 bucks you could have these for both your seats... I would think it would be the better route for not that much more money. :2cents:

And to keep your mom out of it, do what I do. Always keep the keys with you. lol

I think your original idea would be easiest, you wouldn't have to mess with mounting new sliders or anything like that, that is, if I understand your idea correctly.

You want to take a piece of steel on each corner of the seat and bolt the bracket to the car and then bolt the seat to the bracket. A very simple procedure actually, but I don't know how safe it would be in an accident.

Yeah exactly. Its pretty safe hobby stock drivers can fly off the track and the seat doesnt move. Just make sure the welds are good :grinyes:

Yeah well I pit for a buddie that races sprint cars and I've seen him break the welds on his seat in a crash. And those are specially designed racing seats.

i mean like what part of the seat were the welds broke were i could see like the side welds near the top breaking since most of them are thinner there but i would say do your welds better if there breaking that easy.
