spark plug blowed out

:banghead: 2002 Exp. number 2 plug blowed in two pieces replaced still runs the same idles rough an what to do next HELP me please repair place is having a field day with me.

If you have a 5.4 liter engine you may have damaged the coil. Pull it out and put a spark plug in it ground the plug. Check for spark if it bothers you to do this buy a spark tester a plug with a clamp on it. Then check for spark. If you have spark plug wires ohm them. You probably need a tune up.

my #2 plug blew out monday morning, still checking the damage, have'nt tried to do anything yet, waiting to hear back from a friend/ mechanic i know
and it did break the coil into a few pieces

Hope you all have better luck than me I finally found someone that know what they where doing ,when the spark plug blow pieces of it worked its way down the head an cracked my block so now i need a new motor .

While its possible to crack the block it is more probable that you cracked the head. I assumed when you changed the plug you got all pieces sometimes you need to use a small magnet. Was a head pulled to verify damage of the engine if this isn't done you don't know. Also a piece of metal on top of the piston will make a racket letting you know to shut it down.
Verify before signing a work order for a new engine. Make them show you the damage before you get taken to the cleaners.

ok, i'm back on the road! well after 480$ later i am, found a shop that's dealt with the problem before, they have speceal tools for this , a re-threader that inserts and cuts the threads from the inside out was the 1st attempt to fix, no luck there, then a reamer and a insert ( heli-coil ) to replace the threads worked, labour alone was 350$ new coil was 97$ insert was around 6$, avoiding going to the dealer?? PRICELESS!

I was reading on the internet where big block Fords have this problem where there is not enough threads to hold the spark plug in the aluminium head, and people were blowing out the spark plug. Rumors of a recall, but Ford is fighting it because it's too many vehicles, and it would bankrupt the company. It would take replacing the heads on all those trucks. Some people have replaced the heads on their trucks two times.
