I think I have a grounding problem with this 67 Bird
When you turn on the parking lights, headlights, or heater fan, the fuel gauge dial drops and the left turn signal indicator on the dash dimly lights up. Even when this happenss it does not effect the lights or operation of anything.
Someone mentioned thatit might be that the panel cluster is not grounded properly.
Does anyone know how to check it or add another ground wire?
Thanks, Angelo

Welcome to AF!
A wiring diagram is your best friend at this point. Other than that, you'd have to trace the wiring out and examine it thuroughly.
Or option B:
Get some holy water, and chant "the power of Christ compells you" until it goes away :dunno: :yikes:
Sorry, had to throw that in there, elcetrical issues are always fun.

Thanks,
I don't mind the turn signal light so much but at night time I have to shut the lights to see how much gas I really have (LOL)

Well, you do want to get a jump on it before it becamoes a bigger problem, especially if it's the original 40 year old wiring.

Well whadaya know!
I've been searching for a while now, but I just found a nice complete color wiring diagram on a restoration site.
We'll skip the HOLY WATER for now.
Angelo
How do you post a photo in these replies?
At the bottom it says "you may not post attachments"

The af gallery has been twitchy ever since I started coming here.
You have use a host to create the link.
The wriring diagram should point you to the common point of the problematic circuit(s) even tho the older ones aren't as detailed.
