I am looking to make my 2003 ford focus 2.3L faster, and more fun to drive. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i should do, such as new air intake, new exhaust, stuff like that. I am not looking to spend any more than $1200 dollars, so please no suggestions that will cost more than that.

ok well with your silly budget i guess if you were to install A NOS SETUP on this car you would get some fun outa it! I would like to say Despite posts ive read! i completely disagree that nos is bad for your engine because NOS is extremely cold liquid gas that actually cools your motor down when used! sure the compression is bad and you could blow up the block but its freezing cold! look at these psycho's pushing over 30psi of boost on turbo! now that shit is crazy! Honestly these cold air intakes just make the engine sound better. headers dont do jack shit for horse power. they just let the engine breathe better. and who cares about letting the engine breathe when your not force feeding it through the intake creating strain on the out exaust side! cat backs headers mufflers and cold air intakes only change the sound of the car and dont do jack for horsepower! the real horsepower comes from forcefeeding or proper full NOS setups!

the only other method i know of is

taking the motor apart and installing a STROKER crank
then put some forged pistons in with high compression
DAMNNNNNNNN baby!
