i have a problem with this car! it has been to 2 shops that keep replacing the fuel pump !! and in a few days it stops working again!! its my mothers car and i am trying to help her out!! so i did some digging and decided to change the fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch! then i changed the fuel pump , filter and screen!! it worked grreat for a day!! drove it about 20 miles and had no problems with it let it set running in my drive for 3 hours and revved it up several times and it ran great!! by the way it has 120,000 miles anyway! went out the next day heard the fuel pump energize then nothing and car never started!! sprayed it with starting fluid and it started!! went under car checked the hot leads to pump and they worked like repair manuel said!! pump is shorted out again!! this is 4th pump in 3 weeks!! any ideas why pumps keep shorting out? any place to start looking?? also no codes are stored!! thanks

Welcome to AF.Look for a bad ground, then check if the bottom of the tank is damaged or, the baffle has moved in the tank, these issues could distort the body of the pump causing it to go bad. Make sure the sock on the pick up is clean and not kinked as installed, also. Check the pump connectors for high resistance or burnt connections..
