How do I reset the alarm code for an Alarmed Grand Prix. I tried everything I could think of to start the car. Thought it was battery, did a jump start, nothing. Followed PASS KEY manual instructions to start car. It started for awhile, then everything just shut down and then a clicking noise started under the hood. lights turn on, but car won't start.:banghead:

With Passkey VATS there are a few things you can try. Clean the resistor pellet contacts on the key with a pencil eraser. Or try a spare key if you have one.

The relearn procedure is ignition to on for at least 10 minutes and off for approximately 30 minutes.

Welcome to AF.

i tried the instructions you left, it worked for a while then the car shuts down. called the dealer, i explained everything and he said to change the battery. changed the battery and it seemed to work. i stopped at a stop light and the car shuts down. all the lights in the dashboard flash on and off. the overhead lamp flashes on and off and a clicking noise sounds from under the hood. i tried your instructions again and got back to my apartment. i checked all the components of my car and my dad noticed that the wires to the fuse box on the driver's side is loose, we tightened it and the car works, only i am still scared to drive it around.

i am wondering if there is another way to reset the alarm, unless you think the car is fine. jn
