your right arm on your spoiler looks crooked compared to the other one.
very nice though, and the red stang burning them off is very hot. :)

Actually the whole spoiler is pretty inaccurate according to some of my reference pics at the moment. If you look at the spoiler from the first pic, the stilts ate like slanted like this, \_\ when they should be more like this, |_\. So I plan to replace the stilts or correct these.

The hood looks alot like the ones on the 95 Cobra R (without the round bulge ontop), which Tamiya made in 1/24 scale a while back.
I just dry fitted the 95 R hood from Tamiya on a 99 Cobra from Revell and it will fit, but would take a bit of work as its too wide and long.
The relevant Sprue is 'E' part no 0002796 (kit 156) if you want to try and order it from Tamiya, if they still have any.

You can order them off HobbyLinkJapan (www.hlj.com) right? I'll see what I can do. Thanks by the way.
EDIT: Does anyone have pics of the Saleen hood??

Thanxs for the comments guys and for the pics Ranger_X.
clatescivictyper, cool, I'm deciding what to do with my engine at the moment, I'm either going to drop an engine from a Mach 3, Super Sallion, or just modify the current engine. I started this car quite a while back but never gone around to finish it, and now after being filled up from ths form, I'm trying to make this car as accurate as I can. I got started on my f. bumper today, and deciding how I should create it, and I plan to use stylene sheets!!! hehe:)
Any other suggestions for the hood? Comments and pictures are always appreciated!:)

A little hard, since they only made 300 of them. You can easily make a replica though. Due to the popular look, lots of companies make replica wheels hoods, spoilers and airdams
The spoiler does go like | \ as in this pic:

The engine may be a little hard to do, as you won't have the decals. Here's what the cobra R 5.4 looks like:
http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/09/mustang_cobrar_engine.jpg
To make the engine, I suggest starting with the regular 4.6 engine, as it will only require some work to the intake. The Cobra R uses a 5.4 and so does the super stallion, but the super stallion looks a lot different due to the piping and the fact that there's a roots supercharger and intercooler. The fact that the R uses a 5.4 and the GT uses a 4.6 isn't a big deal in modeling. Its not like your gonna take a model engine apart and measure the bore/stroke.
here's what the super stallion engine looks like:
http://www.mustang-gt.com/gt/FWN/FordSVESuperStallionM.jpg
http://www.mustang-gt.com/gt/FWN/FordSVESuperStallion4M.jpg
Oh, and as well for the 00 Cobra R: Its interior was stripped. No back seats, no stereo, a/c, and black recaro racing buckets.
http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/09/mustang_cobrar_interior.jpg
Ride height is also 1.5" lower than stock. Are you using the 99 cobra kit? The 00 R came with bigger front rotors as well. The 99 cobra has an IRS, so that saves a ton of work

Ugh. Thats what my dad wants. Now that all the kids are out of the house and he's an old man, he needs to revive his youth. I try to tell him that the V6 auto is the granny version and it'll make him look like a pussy but he won't listen  Maybe I can convince him to build an AC cobra replica with me as a "father-son project"

a V6 auto should never have been made....thats just buying it for the "look." Has your dad drove a v6 auto? it won't revive his youth at all...those things are too damn slow. And that is coming from a civic driver lol....

I don't think any sports car, or exotic should be made with an automatic tranny. When I look for ferrari models on ebay, I search for "ferrari model" and always get a couple of auctions that are for real cars. I just have to look at them, ferraris:D ! I see that it is auto and I'm like AHH! But since I will probably never be able to afford one, I figure, who cares, right? But if I could afford it, no way in hell it would be auto. just my 2 pennies.:)

You mean for the real car? I believe A&A specialties or xenon makes the lower airdam and wing, maybe hood. Cervinis makes a hood, wing and airdam as well. And I also know that you can buy the real hood airdam and wing directly from ford.

Thanks for the comments, as for the AE86, the rims came that way, don't worry I plan to paint them white, I was just fitting them on to see how much lower I need to make it. That's just about as low it can go without choppping the coils.

Thanks for the comments, clate as for lowering your car, it depends on what company manufactured your model. I have this tecnique that can be used on Tamiya, Fujimi, and Hasegawa depending on the actual car. It worked on all my fujimi cars except the "new" Integra. Well I'll roughly explain and post pics later. You basically place the little tabs that are on the chassie(sp?) (the ones that you connect the chassie to the body, above the actual given position giving your car a lower stance without chopping the springs, if your not satisfied with it, then you can go ahead and chop the springs. One thing, don't force it in. You have to make sure that the interior bay won't jam up your glass. So be very careful!!!:):)

Hono, I came across this thread while doing a "Mustang Cobra engine" search!!
Looks like your conversion is going to be money!
Where did you get those Cobra R style wheels?
Anyway, I want to find a Ford "cammer" crate engine similar to the one used in the V8 Focus RS. I'm doing a Focus transplant and aI also wan tot drop the sam engine into my '65 Conti. I figured the Revell Mustang Cobra kit engine would be the best.
so any progress onthis Cobra R???

I'm not too sure what the "cammer" motor is, so I'm afraid I can't really help you at the moment.
The wheels for this car are Fujimi's Volk Racing wheels. Currently, the car sits waiting to be modified and assembled. I think I'll be able to bring the project back up in a couple of months, so keep an eye out.

Well guys, I'm adding more work for myself! I've decided to give a shot on the rims:
http://www.aaarims.com/wheels/820-7965s.JPG
Currently trying to modify the kit rims.... too bad I don't have resin molding supplies, or else I would only have to do the rim mods once.
Gveman, thanks for the link, not only do I see a few useful pics but also got all the info about the car!
Well, any help/advice about the rims would be great. It's being a pain so far!

Wow, that's a nice Cobra R! The rims look good, wonder where he got those from.
