alright so, my 93 350 started to idle a little rough, i thought it might be dirty injectors so i used an injecter and valve cleaner fuel additive. my exhaust started to blow smoke on start ups and we wrote it off as a side effect of the valve cleaner. im still finishing up the tank and now the idle has actually gotten worse, today it barely started and had the roughest idle ive ever heard on a vehicle. it sounded like a weed-eater that wanted to die, and then it did die twice, finally i got it started and was able to get home. any one ever see this problem before?

Are both injectors firing? (take off the air cleaner to see)
Would be good to check fuel pressure (need a special fuel pressure tester for TBI unfortunately).
When was the last time it was tuned up or fuel filter replaced?
How do the plugs and wires look? Cap and Rotor?
Check for vacuum leaks. Inspect EGR for proper operation. Has the 02 ever been replaced?
Is the check engine light on? If so, need to find out what codes are stored.

well now the truck has almost no throttle response at low rpm, anywhere over 2000 rpm its fine. the check engine light is on, how do i check what codes are stored? also i dont know if this would help in diagnosing, but the exhaust has a very odd smell to it. tomorrow, ill go ahead and check the injectors, and probably also the fuel filter. thanks for any help

www.troublecodes.net/GM and a paper clip will get you the code(s).

See what the codes are first. You could be running rich.

Sounds like the symptoms of a wet distributor cap...
