Center console transplant??

Ok lets try this again.


I have a 90 civic hatch with the 2 peice center console the gap between the Shifter and the dash. and I found a one peice out of a 86-87 crx it is the one that goes from the das back to the e- brake. from the pics it looks like it might fit but the guy who has it does not know.

So will it, and if not what year car should i look for to find this console

I'm not sure about the 86-87 CRX, but I know you can swap in a center console from a 2nd gen CRX (88-91). The difference though, is that the CRX center console is slightly angled towards the driver, but its deffinitely possible...

I would also recommend the center console from a 94-2000 Acura Integra. It'll bolt right up (pretty much), and it's got a cup-holder and armrest/storage compartment.

Im not sure if you can use that piece. There was one made for the 88-91 civic and was a dealer option. I am currently looking for one also. They seem to be a lil hard to find :)

Also you can do a 94-01 integra console, which has an armrest and cupholders. Theres a how-to on 4thgenerationcivic.com, Heres the link, http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/how-to's/How-To's.htm, its the first thing under aftermarker/custom.

It's from an EDM hatch, but I guess it isn't of much use for you guys since you also need the part that goes on top of that right?

I dont think so... i think it should just go in place of our bottom half...Wanna get rid of it?

Well, the reason I assume it won't fit is because there are like "clips" (?) on the the top part (your bottom part) that fit in the bottom part and they are screwed together. you know what I mean? :bloated:but maybe it does fit, I dunno.
I don't have a USDM civic to try...

YES It Will Fit!! All YOu Have TO Do Is Take THe Bottom Part Off The US Stereo Console, And the Piece Fits Right On With The Same Clips!!!

I dont want the teg console. I used to, until i got the OEM civic armrest, now i want the oem dash piece to complete it :D

Sure, it's just sitting here.
However it's from a GL not from a VT which means no ashtray light and cigarette lighter light :rolleyes:
btw, someone on this board (I don't remember who) had a EDM console like mine and he was talking about a small gap at the bottom in his USDM Civic, dunno about that just so you know...

I like the complete console with arm rest i think i am going to try to find one of them and hold off on the crx console that i found. thanks for all the info

thats around the price they go for. Ive seen lower prices liek around 70.. and ive seen higher, like 150. Avg price is about 90-100 bucks.

i have seen just the one piece go for around 100 bucks!!

Does anyone have any pics of the teg console with the cupholders pulled out? It doesn't look like there's too much room for em in front of the shifter. Can you fit large drinks in there?

Mcdonalds medium sized cups fit okay.

if anybody has one or comes across one let me no i would like to buy it.

I've never had a problem with the shifter gettin in the way. McD's supersize will fit but it leans back cause of the stereo, still my shifter doesn't hit.
