97 astro power steering

Power steering failed preceeded by a 'pop' sound. Visual inspection negative. Fluid level not reading on stick. Added fluid and all seemed ok for a day. Then steering got very sluggish and is now parked. My thought is that it blew a seal in the p/s pump. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just bite the bullet and replace it. I've had that done twice.

Just bite the bullet and replace it. I've had that done twice. How hard is it to replace--did u do it yourself.?
