I'm going to try to help Rally out in getting this forum more active. I would like to know what we, the moderating staff can do to make the Monte Carlo section more appealing to you the user. Any idea you have feel free to pm myself or Rally or post it in this thread...
Thank you

Yeah, any suggestions to keep you guys from going too far from here would be great, because the forum can be fun, just need more people to stick around.

:spit: I just about choked on that. Enlightenment. Somebody once thought I got 'too angry' at work and gave me this buddah chant CD. So now everytime my boss comes in with another project, in goes the disc and tell the boss, you must go now, enlightenment calls. :lol2:

That would be the all time conversation ender, or really anything ender. Just pop in the CD when problems start coming in and go "PLEASE, PLEASE.. I must be enlightened.."

Not being a Monte owner, but love the car, more of a Camaro lover, throw up a contest of some sort.Don't have to be to big, but pics and proof.Maybe a t-shirt,or a hat and some cudos to go with.Beer helps to,might go get one meself if the incentive is right!

I don't think anyone will be getting free beer off of AF, lol. Does sound nice though. I guess what I was trying to get at with this thread is do you guys want any sub forums like what the maro section has? How would you guys like to see your section? Thanks guys now I can't get that beer thing out of my head, and I am stuck at work and its time to set the clocks back so I am here an extra hour. ^%#%$&(* &*^%%&*^

My name is Edson and I own a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. When I bought this car five years ago it was up for a JD Power award for quality. Little did I know what would transpire over the next few years. I love my car, especially since it is paid off. I have had many problems with the vehicle ranging from intake manifold issues to transmission problems. I have never used a warranty or an extended warranty as much as I have with this car. Why don't I sell it? Again it is paid off, and I like it. When it runs well and it is polished it is a slick looking ride. You asked what could you do to make the Monte Carlo forum more noticeable. My suggestion is to include all up to date Technical Service Bulletins on not only the Monte Carlo but other vehicles as well. When I started having problems with my Monte I went straight to the internet to see if anyone else had had similar problems. You would be surprised how difficult it was to locate current information on mechanical issues and recent TSBs. Before writing this post I googled "Chevrolet Monte Carlo tsb" and then just "Chevrolet Monte Carlo." The AF did not come up within the first three pages of the search results. By including TSBs you could gain more attention to your forum. There are many of us car owners who like to have a clue of what is wrong with our vehicles before we take it to the mechanic so we have a chance of not being taken to the bank. I quickly figured out to own this car I would need the service manuels.

My boyfriend has a 97 monte LS and i have a 95 monte Z34. Since he got his a year ago, he replaced the transmission, and now his intake manifold is leaking. This is the second time that has needed to be replaced in a year. I have learned that montes have their problems and usually are the same thing from year to year. i dont know where you live, but Im sure there is either a chevy dealership there or a Napa store there. the intake manifold only cost us about 35 to 45 dollars for the part. So good luck with yours.

Umm, how about red?
A metallic silver would look good over red, and of course black over red is nice.

Edson I think your idea was completely ignored. Its a shame because it was a really good one. (Link edited by Moderator - no linking to other forums is allowed. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/guidelines.html has all the recall info and TSB info if you need it.

I think it is a good idea too! Maybe there could even be a new section added just for TSBs.
