I dont think he was using nitrous....you can usually hear it....its pretty loud...but that thing was fast...I would like to see a mod list for that car...

You can hear it? What are you talking about you can hear it? I just finished a nitrous install on my friends SI and there is no way you can hear it. Maybe if its a huge shot, but unlikely. The noise of the engine and exhaust will make it almost impossible to hear.

ragin: then aparently you never saw f&f :p
But yeah I agree with ragin you can't really hear it. It's usually almost impossible to detect.

i could hear is the engine going at it and that dsm was shifting fast as hell! i dont think he was using nos at all because of how long the races were and how many times he had to use it to come back that fast. eventually that Nos bottle had to go. Did you guys see him almost go in time?!?!?!?!!! hahahahha

people think nos does so much. Its really not that big a difference you need supporting mods for nos just like anything else. If you stick that shit on a civic its still going to be a civic. I raced my old boss who had a civic with nos and everything else basically stock he had exhaust and headers and I beat him badly from a dig and comfortably from a 40kmh roll, on my STOCK talon.

If there was a smell-o-vision I could tell you, because nitrous has a distinct odor when it burns.

Well if you think about it, thats for anything. You cant slap a huge turbo on a stock DSM and think its going to be super fast. It will most likely be slower then running a stock t25. But like people have been saying for years, nitrous is the best bang for the buck. And if you plan on running a 50shot of wet there isnt much supporting mods you need. Maybe a exhaust and intake. But on the other hand if you plan on running a 100shot or more, then yes you will need supporting mods.
If there was a smell-o-vision I could tell you, because nitrous has a distinct odor when it burns.
And yes, I have noticed that as well. I was the flagger for a Rally Art and the juiced si last weekend and I definitly smelt something different.

Yeah my buddy has an Lsvtec honda with a 75 shot and we go racing quite alot. So I know the smell of nitrous very well. It's funny, because we can race evo's and usually win when we are squeezing and one time the guy started arguing with us saying that the "bottle is for babies" When he was driving a turbo, AWD Evo and here we are driving an NA FWD civic hatch. He was just mad because he got beat by a honda, hehe.
Yep completely random I know.
And I agree, nitrous can be the best bang for you buck.

Wow, I want that car.
I think he spend 3 grand on the car and building the motor and about 1g on the nitrous setup. I was actually thinking about building one to compliment my GSX.
Oh, I also raced that car when I had my Cobra. My cobra had full exhaust and intake. I beat it, but not by much.
Nevermind, Ignore this. To many drugs done in my life.

I doubt that was the same car you raced cause that car would beat a cobra with exhaust.

What? I raced the EXACT car. Not one like it, the EXACT car. Since the owner of the honda is my best friend.
I can't see how you would come to the conclusion that I raced a different car, since in the post about the cobra I said:

WELL what I was trying to say nicely is BULLSHIT your cobra would LOSE
see him smoke that 11 sec TA wasn't even close. Stock cobras are 12.9 so your telling me your exhaust made chopped you somewhere in the tens?
maybe it was before he did something else to it but that car in that video would beat a cobra

I think I got a little confused there.

The only people that I have seen nitrous on were really big shots...and you could definatly hear it.....so I guess I dont really have anything to compare it too....:banghead:

nitrous has a distinct odor when it burns.
Actually I have been informed that the biggest misconception of nitrous is that it burns/explodes. It does neither. But, I do not doubt that you can smell it.

I don't know who told you that, but I think that they don't know what they are talking about.
But the way nitrous works is that when heated up(IE: burned) it breaks down and releases oxygen allowing the engine to burn more fuel. It also has a dual purpose that when it leaves the line it cools the intake manifold before it gets into the cylinder, thus cooling the air flowing through the manifold.
The smell that is associated with nitrous is actually the smell of the nitrogen that was left over and expelled.
