The best way to get parts for your 96 is just like for my 95. look for SVT parts out of a 97 or go to the 3.0 out of a cougar.

Wow, loads of wrong information here.

SVT parts are not available in 97 Contours since the SVT Contour was only made from 98-00.

The 3.0L duratec did not come in cougars. Cougar/Contour guys swap them from a Taurus, Escape, etc.

And btw, not all 96 and 95 parts are interchangable, meaning you cant swap parts from 98-00 onto a 95. Only the 95 Contour had the most differences from all the other Contours. For example, because the 1995 speedo is cable driven, the SVT gauges will not work. Also, because the 95 has vacuum operated secondaries, the larger SVT lower intake manifold will not work either since its controlled by the IMRC. Of course, then theres the whole other issue that 95's use OBD-I and 96+ uses OBD-II.
