i was wondering if there is any way to let my car go past 120 without the govenor shuting off the engine. I own a 2000 gt.

The speed limiting is contained/controlled by the PCM module. You will need a Powertuner to remove the speed limitation or just get a re-programmed PCM module. Companies are ZZP, DHP or Intense available at any hp web site for Grand Prixs. Cost varies from $79 - $99.

I though the pre-04s shut down at 107??? and even the 04' Gts shut down at 107, GTPs at 127, and comp-gs at 142...
but as bnaylor said a reprogrammed PCM or tuner can eliminate it easily...

That is a good point 04GTP. The Gen III GPs are the same as the Gen IVs. Speed limiting was based on the speed rating of the tires.
The other problem is even with a re-programmed PCM unless he has a HUD with a digital speedo he may still not know what his real top speed is or what it will ever be.
