intermitant miss/elect. or fuel?

:banghead: I have a '93 Dakota w/ the 5.2L that has a miss that is inconsistant. The engine runs fine when idling and when I accelerate, but at a constant speed it misses (but not all the time). I did a tune up (wires,plugs,air filter,fuel filter, cap and rotor) but still have the miss. I had a friend who is mechanically inclined take a ride in it and he said that it seemed to be electrical rather than a fuel issue. He checked the EGR valve and said that it was working fine. Any ideas? He was thinking it may be the ignition coil but he suggested that I try this forum to see if the fine people here could give me some help. Also, I have no trouble lights on. Any input that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time- scott

The old 5.2L wore out the bushing in the distributor there used to be a TSB about it. My 95 had a intermittent miss no codes, replaced the cam sensor never done it sense.

Thank you for the information Troy.I would have never thoght of that. I will give it a try after I get back from my hunting trip and let you know if that was it.
