Supercharged Z32

I am putting together a supercharger system for my Z32 N/A. I am looking at a paxton procharger or vortec unit. When the supercharger compresses the air does it heat up as much as a turbo does? If so could I place an intercooler or aftercooler system behind the front bumper. I am thinkin about running 6psi with (already installed-->) tubular heat wrapped headers, greddy cat back, fidanza lightweight flywheel, stage 2 clutch. With dyno tuning added after I put together this supercharger system would 6psi on stock internals be safe? Now I know that guessing horsepower is a shot in the dark but with proper tuning what kinda *rough* numbers could I be looking at here? Thanks everyone.

Yes. Compressing air creates heat, doesn't matter how it's done.

Yes. Plumbing might be a pain in the ass but there's always a way to make it fit.

Probably, given a healthy AF, proper intercooling and perhaps some water injection. Thats about what the twin turbo kits for the 350Z run both compression and boost wise and they're pretty reliable.

considering the money and amount of time I have to do the upgrade, I have figured that it should come out to way less than doing a TT swap, but I am still undecided on whether I want to wait until I am better suited to complete a TT swap.

Fair enough. Given that a clip will probably run at least $2000 if you can do a good deal of the fab work yourself you might come away cheaper with the supercharger.

yes, 6psi is possible. there is a guy that has his Z tuned once a month that is running 10psi on a turboed 10.5:1 compressioned N/A motor.
make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. there is alot of custom work involved. custom upper plenum would be invloved for a standard roots type blower. i personally think that dropping the AC compressor and replacing that area with a centrifugal type supercharger would be the easiest and a well designed intake tract that will evenly split the air in 2 equal flows to feed each stock throttle body. even for this, it will be hard to design and some kind of intract flow device would almost need to be designed to equalize the flow but it would save the money involved in designing a good upper plenum that will still fit the stock hood.
all in all, your looking at a lot of money and effort for not that much of a gain. by the time you are done you could have probably had a Twin Turbo at 400rwhp.
i see this setup at 6psi dynoing 250rwhp and keep in mind this will need to be tuned regularly. any change in ambient temperature will dramatically heighten your chance of detonation will lead to the destruction of your hard work.
