2000 Taurus FFV-I tried Jiffy Lube for the first time to get oil/filter changed. I told the guy my specs sheet says to use 5W-30 oil. The guy then told me that Ford made a mistake with the book and also the dipstick and I should get 5W-20 instead and he does 100 cars a day yada yada. I insisted on 5W-30 so that is what they used. My question is which one should I be using? I bought the car 2yrs ago and have put 16,000 miles on it (now 70,000) with no problems so far. Thanks-

Ford changed the weights after 2000 to help meet fuel standards of cafe

You are fine.

I run 10/30 in my 2000 Duratec.

Oil analysis say it is fine
