Will not stay in reverse....

Hey all. Just found the forum and I like it so far!
Anyways.... My co worker has a 95 corsica and it will not stay in reverse unless you wiggle the shifter a tad bit to find the "right spot", then it works fine unless you wiggle the shifter out of that certain spot. The rest of the gears work fine. The shifter detents in the reverse position also.
Any ideas about the fix here?
The transmission shifts perfectly. The fluid and filter were replaced to see if this problem would be corrected but did not. No burnt fluid or unusual deposits in the pan.
