I'm off home I've had enough of the inside of my office for the day...
These two photos adorn the wall of my office - I took them a while back (I take a lot of photos when I'm travelling). Have a look at them and tell me where they are taken... These will be relatively easy... However, I do have several others taken all over the place that will really make you think...

This is the second picture... by the way both shots required evading security people - they get really funny about people climbing around on the roof with a tripod @ night or leaning over railings...

I'm just guessing here, but they obviously arn't anywhere in NZ. As only Auckland and Wellington have that taller buildings, and its deffiently not them.

Is the top one (black and white) Brisbane? The Highway is just like some is brisbane.

Is the 2nd one Sydney? I'm not sure what sydneys tower looks like though.

It has to be Sydney skyline from accross Darling Harbour or somewhere similar. You can see Centrepoint tower. I should know - sorta live here.

Picture 1 was Circular Quay from the roof of the Park Royal Sydney in The Rocks. The elevated structure along the bottom of the building is the Circular Quay Train Station with the Ferry Terminals.

Picture 2 is of the Sydney CBD from Mrs Macquarie's Chair so OzRiceBoy was close but from the wrong side... if it had been Darling Harbor, Centrepoint would have been on the right hand side.

Here's a couple more from the 'Sydney Series' - I'll think of some more pics to have a look at soon...

This should be easy for the Kiwis a little more difficult for the Australians and a little harder for the norty's...

This place is an icon location for me. It's one of the places that everyone should see at least once - it's up there with the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Uluru etc...

I'll give you a hint. The flag will tell you it isn't in Scandanavia...

Ohhh...tough one. Let's work on the flag first. Is it somewhere in Canada (I'm working with the union Jack?). I don't think it's lake Lousie...If not - Wales, Scotland or New Zealand?

flag = New Zealand.

Snow that close to water = South Island

picturesque landscape = popular tourist destination

I say

Fiordland

am I correct?

The answer is... Milford Sound in Fiordland.

The flag is a NZ Ensign - It's a red version of the NZ National Flag which is flown on boats.

The mountain I've shot in the background is Mitre Peak which rises from the sea to over 1800m... To try to put that into perspective - imagine 5 Sydney Centrepoint or Auckland Sky Towers (@348m) each stacked on top of each other to get an idea of how tall Mitre Peak is...

I'll have a look thru the back catalog and find somewhere a bit further afield for the next quiz.

Which Sydney 'burbs where you from? Why did you go? I lived in a Suburb called Kirrawee (pretty close to Cronulla). I left Sydney 6 years ago when I met Raf (Moondog) when he was working as an Intern in Sydney for a year and moved over here with him when he came back. :) Still miss Sydney sometimes though. I'll be back at the end of next month for a week though! :D

On a more serious note, what will you be doing why you're here. Oh shit, I just realised that's when I'm doing HSC exams. Doh! No APC meet. And You'll miss my BBQ! Damn...
So whatcha up to?
