Bill Weir left unbelievers in his wake after we reported he had cracked 200 mph in his modified [b]C5 convertible ( http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2001/april/200c5/200c5pg1.asp ), and with the top down. Recently, we saw "200-mph Bill," a 6'6" former Houston Oilers professional football player, at a car show in Amarillo, Texas, where he told us about a speeding ticket he'd received for "205 in a 55." We wanted to see the ticket. Bill obliged, pulling out the green speeding ticket. Sure enough, the officer had written 205 mph for the violation. We wondered why Bill was still with us and not either in jail or suffering a worse fate, maybe on a chain gang somewhere. Fortunately, the officer knew Bill and explained, "You know, you could go to jail for this." The saving grace was that Bill was a mile and a half outside his county line. So, they didn't take him to jail. He did pay a hefty $375 fine. We're still gathering information on how much horsepower it takes to pull a C5 to 200 mph, but we have learned that the C5 is quite a bit more aerodynamic than the C4 and takes less horsepower to reach the magic double C-note. -- Jerry Heasley

 no shit thats fast. 375 doesnt seem that huge especially for 150 mph over the limit. I guess "200mph bill" must have been in quite a hurry.

i'm surprised that he wasnt shot on the spot. i wonder how the copper got him to stop.

i wonder that too, seriously if you are being pursued by an officer, and you are going 205 would you stop? i mean just blow the guy away lay low for a loooong time and there you go, no ticket or nothing.

in a way, i guess he wanted to get the ticket. if i said I drove 205 in a 55 to my friends, they wouldn't believe me. Show them a ticket saying so and they'd believe. Still $375 and the risk of something worse wouldn't be enough for me... :D

I got a BS parking ticket today at school, our freaking second day back!!!!!. there weren't any parking spots left so i hopped the curb and parked on an island type thing, then after 6th period one of my friends told me there was a yellow thing on my car so i went and checked it out and i got a ticket for parking illegally. but the thing that gets my goat is that there were about 6 other cars parked the same way that i was and none of thier cars had tickets, it didn't have the cops name on it so i am going to appeal the damn thing, i didn't even get a warning.

Here in Oregon we start Sept. 6th

Kids with trucks and jeeps here park on Islands or next to the curb when spots run out, our Security Gaurds only go givw warning stickers and tickets or boots when they feel like not being lazy.

gang$tarr

yeah i think they look more right with the "U" especially since every english speaking country except for the U.S. uses the "u" in words.... the states decided they were too good for the "U" hahahah
